New Advisory Board to Provide Strategic Guidance and Expertise for the Expansion of its Autism Services Division for Learn It

The Learn It family of companies are excited to announce the formation of their new autism advisory board. Comprised of business and clinical leaders in education, technology, behavioral health, and autism advocacy, the board’s purpose is to support management’s goal of becoming the premier autism services provider in the country. According to the Founder and CEO, Michael Maloney, “We have a tremendous opportunity to expand access to high quality autism services to families across the county and continue to innovate in service delivery. This advisory board will help our leadership team shape our programming to meet the needs of families for the next decade.”
Joining the board are:

  • Henry Harbin, MD – former Chairman and CEO of Magellan Health Services and advocate for mental health services,
  • Kevin Custer – technology entrepreneur, board member of the Autism Society of America, and partner at ARC Capital Development,
  • Leslie Morrison, PhD, BCBA-D – Chair of the Applied Behavior Analysis Department at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology’s Los Angeles and Irvine campuses,
  • Kristin Jacobson — Founder, Board Chair, President & Executive Director at Autism Deserves Equal Cover (ADEC) Foundation and former healthcare marketing executive,
  • Ronit Molko, PhD, BCBA-D – Founder of Autism Spectrum Therapies and President of Autism Services at Learn It, and board member of Autism Society of Los Angeles.

Learn It began providing autism services through its 2014 acquisitions of Autism Spectrum Therapies and Trellis Services, leading autism services providers on the east and west coasts respectively. The acquisitions significantly expanded the portfolio of services that Learn It provides to children with special needs, which also includes special education staffing, special education program management, and managed classrooms for children with intensive behavior needs. Don Scheeler, EVP of Specialized Services, commented, “Autism services was a natural expansion for Learn It given our history of partnering with school districts to solve their challenges of serving special needs populations.”
Autism Spectrum Disorders affects a staggering 1 in 68 children in America. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is widely regarded as the most effective treatment for individuals with autism and is at the core of AST’s and Trellis’ programs. Learn It’s team includes more than 90 Board Certified Behavior Analysts and 1,000 interventionists. According to Justin Funches, VP of Marketing and Strategy, “The Learn It family of companies is one of the leading organizations in the country serving children with autism and other special needs. Our team has unrivaled expertise in partnering with insurance companies, schools, and government payers to develop evidence based programs.”
As a combined organization, Learn It is one of the leading national providers of services to families affected by autism serving nearly 2,000 families across Arizona, California, Maryland, Louisiana, and Washington. Funches further commented, “We will be opening an office in Illinois later this year and are looking to expand to more communities over the next twelve months.”
